This process is repeated several times as required to produce crystals of aluminum sulfate containing less than 0.04% iron.

 

2. Organic solvent extraction [6]

 

According to the process flow of this method, after the aluminum sulfate solution was oxidized by H2O2, the 260# sulfonated kerosene solution containing 20% (mass fraction) N1923 was added to extract and remove iron. The solvent did not extract the aluminum, and the water phase was obtained as the aluminum sulfate solution with almost no iron, and the refined aluminum sulfate was obtained by concentrating.The organic phase can be recovered by adding dilute sulfuric acid.

 

3. Organic complexation precipitation method [7]

 

Principle and process flow of the method: add 36.3g 40% (mass fraction) diamino compound into the reaction bottle, then add 15% (mass fraction) KOH solution 86g, cool to 10 ~ 20℃, drop another compound 24.5g.The drop acceleration should be controlled at a temperature not exceeding 20℃ (approximately 2 h).After dripping, the temperature was increased to 40 ~ 50℃, and the reaction continued for 0.5 ~ 1.0 h.The precipitant solution of about 30% (mass fraction) was prepared. The precipitant could be used directly without crystallization.
